CV "TIPS AND TRICKS"

Ensuring your CV is top tier is essential when looking for a new job.

With our experience in the industry, we have picked up many tips and tricks that can help you make sure your CV is a winner!

Please see below for more information...

1. Choose the right CV format

We believe the best CV's have a format similar to the one below:

CV header (include name, address, notice period, and any other details you deem relevant)

Personal summary (summarise your experience, and why it is that you're interested in the job concerned)

Skills (bullet point any skills that make you the right candidate for the job)

Employment history (with your most recent first, dating back)

Education history (details on the schools you attended, courses studied and grades achieved)

2. Tailor your CV

To have greater success with applications, it is very useful to tailor your CV to target the job you're applying for.

One way of doing this is by using the job advert as a "cheat sheet", carefully read through and note any skills or experience they are looking for. For example, if they want someone who has experience in sales, tailor your CV so that it provides direct examples of times you have been successful in sales.

3. Using the right words

This is a very useful tip that will allow your CV to be picked up in recruiter / employer searches. The more you use a certain word or job title in your CV, the easier it will be picked up online. For example, if you want to be reached out to regarding sales roles, make sure to have the word "sales" in your CV several times.

4. Employment gaps

Employment gaps are something the majority of people have at some point, to avoid making your CV less attractive because of these unemployment periods, make sure to explain the reason for this period clearly.
